We can provide two options:

Introduction to Poultry Keeping

This is an informal two hour tutorial intended to cover the basics about keeping birds - you should leave confident about caring for half a dozen hens - and as a bonus you will leave with 6 laying hens to start your hobby. (You can take them with after the course or - if you need to build a hen house then you can collect them another day.

The 2 hours session with 6 laying hens costs £50

Hands on Poultry Farming.

This is an informal 2 hour morning theory session with Martin followed by lunch - Catherine’s specialty Eggs Benedict (the eggs don’t come from Tesco!)

In the afternoon we will do the practical jobs - feeding, collecting eggs, as well as the weekly chores - cleaning the houses, etc.

You will be able to participate in all stages of the process from dealing with newly hatched chicks and ducklings through caring for the growers, housing the adults and breeding stock and (if you wish) the slaughter and processing of the table ready birds.

The charge for a unique and educational day on the farm with home grown lunch is just £50 - but be prepared to get your hands dirty as you will be helping out with the jobs rather than looking around.
